Giving Priorities

Our community has a strong legacy of giving, beginning with the generosity of Lucy Henriques, who willed land and a trust fund in 1932 to establish a medical facility at Makahikilua in Waimea.  Today, donor support remains an important part of our culture and vital to the health of our non-profit organization.

There are many ways to support NHCH:

Emergency Department

NHCH is expanding the Emergency Department from 2,700 sq. ft. to 6,000 sq. ft.  This will enable us to serve more patients with greater privacy.  The new ED will feature 12 private treatment rooms, an improved triage system, shorter wait times from "door to doc" and overall reduced visit times.

Physician Recruitment / Facilities

Goal: $2.7 million

We are actively recruiting and employing physicians and practitioners to meet the needs of our community.  Our goal reflects our need to offset the recruitment, startup costs, technology, equipment and renovation of the hospital's facilities to provide clinical space and offices for our physicians and other healthcare providers.

Ho'okumu Society (Annual Fund)

2012 Goal: $750,000

When you give to the Annual Fund, you are helping NHCH meet the organization’s greatest needs and opportunities. These range from equipment and supply purchases to new programs and staff.
