Location: Kamuela (Waimea), Hawaii Island
Waimea is the largest town in the interior of the Big Island and is the center for ranching activities and paniolo culture. Parker Ranch, in and around Waimea, is the largest privately-owned cattle ranch in the U.S., and the annual Fourth of July rodeo is a major event.
Waimea is also home to the headquarters of two astronomical observatories located on Mauna Kea, the Keck Observatory and the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope.

Visiting Hours: when visiting a patient who is staying overnight in the our Medical/Surgical Department, visiting hours are daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
When visiting a patient in our Family Birthing Unit, except for the laboring woman's support team, general visiting hours are also daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitors must check-in at the nurses station outside the Family Birthing Unit. The only children allowed are big brothers or big sisters of the newborn.
Visitation is limited to healthy visitors only (no coughs, colds or sneezes).

NHCH has consistently earned accreditation status with The Joint Commission (TJC), which conducts surveys every three years. Achieving accreditation means that an organization complies with TJC standards and continuously makes efforts to improve the care and services it provides.
