NHCH hosted its 12th annual breast cancer awareness event called Girls Night Out on Friday, October 5th, 2012, and had a record turnout of over 250 ladies! This year’s theme was “Get Your PINK On,” and attendees did just that! Ladies were decked out in pink clothes, pink jewelry, and pink hats!

NHCH Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Doug Hiller served as Head Medical Doctor at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Series (WTS) competition in Yokohama, Japan, September 29 to 30.

Friends and family of Waimea resident, Nancy Donigan wanted to express their gratitude to NHCH and hospital social worker, Megan McCaffrey, for the outstanding care Nancy received during her battle with cancer. They thought the best way to say “Thank You” was from Nancy herself.

NHCH Board of Directors announced today that Ken Wood has accepted the newly created role of Senior Advisor to the Board of NHCH. Bill Brown, NHCH Vice President of Human Resources, has been appointed as interim CEO while the hospital seeks to hire a new CEO through a national search.

NHCH held a public blessing and open house of Kaheleaulani, a Native Hawaiian Health Program, on Friday, August 31st. “NHCH’s Kaheleaulani, a Native Hawaiian Health Program, helps meet the needs of Native Hawaiians who make up nearly 30 percent of the community NHCH serves,” said Ken Wood, CEO.
