North Hawai’i Community Hospital Cancer Center recently partnered with the American Cancer Society to provide a “Look Good Feel Better” event for cancer patients. In this supportive group setting, patients learned beauty techniques to help manage the appearance-related side effects of treatment.

The half-day session was taught by specially trained volunteer cosmetologists and estheticians selected by the American Cancer Society. Patients were given a bag filled with makeup supplies and tools as well as in depth training on applying makeup, wigs, and scarves.
