Fight the Flu!

Flu season is now here in Hawaii and in full force! We all know someone who is sick and none of us wants to be the next person…but what can you do when it seems like everyone around you is sick?

The good news is that the best thing you can do to prevent the flu and other illness is also the easiest…..wash your hands!

Start by wetting your hands with water, and apply soap. Rub vigorously for at least 15 seconds to form lather and scrub all surfaces, paying special attention to your fingertips, the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.

Rinse thoroughly, then dry your hands with a clean cloth, preferably a paper towel. Then use the towel to turn off the faucet.

These simple actions can help fight the flu. If you do get the flu, stay home to keep the flu from spreading, and if you need to make an appointment, call North Hawaii Community Hospital at 887-CARE.
