North Hawaii Community Hospital’s Code Lavender program was recently featured in a national publication, Healthcare Business Insights, and recognized for its innovation and positive impact on patient satisfaction.

Developed in 2004 by staff members at North Hawaii Community Hospital, Code Lavender is a call for support and prayer initiated by patients or employees for themselves, patients, co-workers, or friends. Code Lavender reflects North Hawaii Community Hospital’s commitment to providing patients with a blended-medicine healing environment.

“Spirituality is an integral part of the Hawaiian culture,” said Arielle Faith Michael, Holistic Care Services Manager at North Hawaii Community Hospital. “The components of a Code Lavender reflect who we are and our commitment to be there for each other in times of need. Our staff members have come to fully support and embrace it.”
